MARCH 22 2008
Sorry for the long delay between updates. We had been focusing on our myspace site
(www.myspace.com/ogre), but it was brought to our attention
in Japan that we probably shouldn't neglect ogrerock.com, so here we go.
In case you couldn't tell/didn't hear, our trip to Japan was a major success, and an amazing time.
There are tentative plans for a more extensive write-up about the trip to be featured on another site (or two,)
so check back for updates on that.
Thanks must go to, first and foremost, our gracious hosts Toreno and Mai, who took care of our every need.
The sound crews at each venue certainly put American clubs to shame.
We're certainly going to miss the A+ treatment and respect that the clubs showed us throughout our trip.
All the bands we played with were top notch, on stage and off.
ETERNAL ELYSIUM blew our minds, and were a tasteful and classy bunch.
Thanks for putting up with these obnoxious Americans! In Osaka, PALM and BIRUSHANAH destroyed with some of the tightest thrash we've ever heard.
Last, but certainly not least, playing with CHURCH OF MISERY and using their equipment was an honor and privilege.
Tatsu, Hideki, Tom and Junji were the greatest guys, and every night they played, we got to hear one of the heaviest bands ever.
And of course, Hideki playing keybords with us during our Tokyo performances
of "Plague of the Planet" will go down as an all time career highlight. As I said, a more extensive bre! akdown of the trip will appear soon.
"Plague..." is available in Japan right now, and it should be available everywhere else after April 1.
We've put a lot of heart and soul into this project, and it's especially gratifying to us that the early buzz
around it is so positive. Our buddy Arz from stonerrock.com gave the album a great review. Check it out:
www.stonerrock.com/forums2/allposts.asp?Forum=ap809241559&ID=40502&StartAt=0">
Also, another great review from Sam Pfeifle of the Portland Phoenix. Thanks, Sam!

APRIL 20 2006
To say that our tour with Agnosis went well would be an understatement! We had a blast, and all the shows went better than we ever hoped. Thanks to all the great bands we played with,
as well as everyone who came out to see us. It was great to see so many folks out there every night, and you certainly made the trip worth our while. Look for us again in the summer!
While we were in CT, we recorded two songs that are going to be included in a vinyl-only compilation album to be released on Swayingball Records later this year. We recorded a new version
of our seminal mainstay "AGE OF ICE," as well as an all new track, "GOD OF IRON." We recorded at Underground Productions in Seymour, CT, and we couldn't be happier with how the tracking went.
This will be a great comp, celebrating underground metal acts, and we are stoked be involved and to finally get some OGRE put on vinyl.
NOW THE BIG NEWS: I know we've been talking about this new record, but we finally have things set in stone. After much deliberation, we are now happy to finally reveal that our
new record, SEVEN HELLS will be released world-wide this summer by Leafhound Records. To say that we're excited and proud to be sharing a label with bands such as Church of Misery, Sonic Flower, and
the Blood Farmers is quite an understatement! It should be out by July, in time for our next mini-tour. We will post more details as the become finalized.
Once again, we're in the mix for the Portland Phoenix best music poll! We were runners up last year, and we know we can make it this year with your help. They've made voting more complicated,

Our show with Earthride can only be described as a career highlight. Not only did Earthride bring real doom to Portland and kick our fucking asses, not only did we play the best we have in a while, but Dave Sherman joined us onstage to sing Pentagram's "Review Your Choices" with us at the end. It was phenomenal. Thanks to those guys for stopping in Portland. We had a blast.
Our performance at the show was reviewed in the USM free press. Check it out here
Thank you, Alex Steed!
Yes, it seems like momentum is building for us as the new album nears completion. We are artist of the month over at www.antimusic.com. Mark from the Hensch's Hometown Heroes column over there has been tireless in his support of our band. Check it out here:
www.antimusic.com/features/05/ogre/

MARCH 20 2005
Our recording at Mad Oak was very successful. We have some more work to do down there, but the raw tracks sound great. Hopefully, you'll be hearing the fruits of our labors later this year. Once again, we're in the mix for the Portland Phoenix Best Music poll. Please help us make a dent and vote for us in the best hard rock catagory here: www.portlandphoenix.com/bmp2k5/
If you aren't local, you don't even have to fill out any of the other categories. (but writing Ed Cunningham into the best vocalist category would be cool, you all know he is the man...) It'll just take a minute or two, but it would help us out a lot! Don't miss us Saturday this week as we appear with Eldemur Krimm and Supersoul Challenger for the benefit for SMCC students. This is an all star show you can't miss. We'd like to extend thanks to Ralph and Jim from the Paperback Bazaar in Somersworth NH for helping us promote our show down there. Check them out at www.pbbz.com . Seacoast newspaper the Foster's Daily Democrat featured a great article on Ogre leading up to the show. Thanks to 70's rock freak Greg Bastianelli for hooking us up!

MARCH 3rd 2005
Our studio time is booked for next week for the recording of our as of yet unnamed new record! We'll be recording in Allston MA at Mad Oak Studios, owned and operated by Craig Riggs and Tim Katz of Roadsaw. We've been rehearsing like crazy, and we all think this release is gonna be something special. We've got a few live dates lined up over the next couple months, too. We'll be invading New Hampshire for the first time on March 18th. We'll be playing with the classic metal cover band Blacklight at the Brickhouse in Dover. March 26th, we'll playing at Bubba's Sulky Lounge in Portland with our buddies Supersoul Challenger and Eldemur Krimm. This show is a benefit for the SMCC Plant and Soil Dept (we're not quite sure what that is, but we're told it's a good cause!) We'll also be playing May 22nd at the Big Easy in Portland opening for doom superstars YOB! Don't miss it.
JANUARY 30 2005
February 11th, come see us for possibly the last time at our favorite dive in Portland, Geno's, for a nite of rock n' roll with Supersoul Challenger and Pigboat. We will be opening the show, so get there early!
If you are on the Internet community MYSPACE, take a look at our profile. We have posted a couple of Black Sabbath covers from our sometime to be released "Live at the Skinny" EP. Check it out here: www.myspace.com/ogre. Hopefully this'll whet some appetites for the next record.
It looks like we will be recording in March, and we're all very excited. We've had some nibbles from some labels, but we are holding out for the big bite. If you are interested, or have any suggestions for us, contact us @ ogrerock@maine.rr.com
See ya on the 11th!
DECEMBER 23 2004
Don't forget about the show on January 8th at Free Street taverna in Portland, Maine. We'll be appearing with the great Supersoul Challenger, but be sure to get there early so you don't miss a set from "The Workin' Men." The great reviews for our CD keep coming in. Check out what the grande rock e-zine had to say about it here: http://www.grande-rock.com/ Click under the CD reviews link and scroll down.
That's it for now. Happy holidays, everyone! We plan to take OGRE to the next level in '05.
NOVEMBER 22 2004

Between this and the mention in Terrorizer, we've been getting more and more mainstream attention this year. Hopefully ,this forward momentum will continue.
What? You don't have a copy of "Dawn of the Proto Man" yet? Then you're in luck, because All That's Heavy is having a fifth anniversary sale. Here it is: http://www.stonerrock.com/store/info.asp?item_num=ATH-1834

NOVEMBER 5 2004
For those of you in Portland, we have some bad news. The ONLY rock club in town, GENO's is going to be moving out of it's historic Brown Street location. This club has been an important fixture to the entire New England rock scene for the past 20+ years. Come see us as we bid farewell to our favorite venue December 4th. It's going to be a special weekend with many great bands playing both Friday and Saturday. We will be appearing with Eldemur Krimm and We're All Gonna Die (from Boston.)
Also don't miss us January 8th as we return to the Free Street Taverna. We will be playing with Supersoul Challenger (ex Hell Wheel Drive members) for their guitarist Tony Vegas' birthday extravaganza. We will have two long sets of kick ass stuff and surprises for all who attend.
OCTOBER 10 2004
Not much new has been happening in the OGRE camp lately. We are putting the finishing touches on the last song for the next record, and will soon start recording some demos for the new songs. Labels, if you want in on the goldmine that is to be the next OGRE record, send us an email at ross@ogrerock.com!
Playing with stonerrock legends Bongzilla was very cool. Thanks to Johnifer Althoff for getting this show together.
Our 5th anniversary got review in the latest issue of the IT Rock Rag! Check out what the great local rock journalist Marilyn Zarkos had to say about it here:
http://www.itrockrag.com/archive.php?amonth=10&ayear=2004&asection=backstagepass
SEPTEMBER 14 2004 Thanks for everyone who joined us for our anniversary show. We were awed by the outpouring of love and respect we received. It's been five years of ups and downs, but all of you loyal supporters have made it worthwhile. Once again, THANK YOU!!

AUGUST 16 2004
Hey everybody. Thanks to everyone who came to our last couple shows. The performance in
Boston was less than stellar, but we made up for it in front of our hometown crowd on
Friday.
Sadly, our show on the 30th has been cancelled... but we can now offically annouce the
details for the OGRE 5th anniversary show! We're gonna celebrate in style. September 10th,
2004 is the date. The festivities will begin with a performance on our favorite radio
station and long time OGRE supporters WMPG, (90.9/104.1) at 7:30 - 8:30 PM. For those who
aren't local, you can listen to the show through their website www.wmpg.org. Then, the
party moves over to (where else?) GENO's, where we will provide an extra long set of rock
n' roll, filled with lots of surprises. Be sure to make it to Geno's early, because opening
the show will be the first performance of SINFERNO, the all girl rawk n' roll band that is
destined for greatness!
If you haven't checked out www.peacedogman.com, you really should get over there. On their
"Essential Albums" feature, "Dawn of the Proto-Man" is the top album for 2003!!! Don't
believe us? Check it out here
Hard to believe, huh? Being on a list that includes Sabbath, AC/DC, Judas Priest, Capt.
Beyond, and many more of our idols is an honor that we don't take lightly. As a band that
has existed for five years just under the radar in our hometown, it is extremely gratifying
to know that our music appeals to a much broader audience than just the local scenesters
and butt kissers. Thanks to the gang at Peacedogman, and to everyone around the world who
has supported us up to this point! You ain't heard nothing yet!
Up the OGRES!

JUNE 12 2004
The show last Thursday with us, Devil to Pay, Eldemur Krimm, and Hell Wheel Drive was tremendous! Every band rocked, and good vibes were to be had all round. Many thanks to John Althoff for getting this show off the ground, and to all the bands.
New England fans: Dawn of the Proto Man will be available to purchase at Newbury Comics within the next couple weeks. If ya can't wait that long, don't forget it's still available at all Bull Moose locations as well! We are also going to be sold through a new internet distributor. Check out www.psycheDOOMelic.com. We should be listed there within the next couple weeks.
Work is still underway on the songs for another record. We've been playing some new songs at the shows recently, and we're happy to report that they have held up really well next to the older stuff. We still hope to be in the studio by years end, but we have another OGRE product in the works to tide you over until then. Keep checking back for more details!
MAY 28 2004
Our show with Devil to Pay, Eldemur, and Hell Wheel drive has been moved!

DON'T MISS IT! This show was too big for Geno's!
MAY 11 2004
Portland fans: check out the first issue of Good Times Magazine. This long running New York publication is expanding up north, and OGRE was the first Portland band that they featured. Despite numerous typos (what do ya expect for their first issue...), the article came out quite well.
A couple new reviews of Proto Man have been posted on the Internet. They are brief, but positive.
ROADBURN www.roadburn.com (Go to the Spring 2004 New Releases section)
DAREDEVIL www.daredevil.de (in the April 2004 reviews section)

Despite our inactivity in terms of live appearances, the OGRE rock revolution continues to grow. We'd like to thank our new friend Chris Beaton, who has been giving us
some air time up in the Great White North! Check out his show "Fuzz City," which spotlights doom/stoner metal Friday nights. The show is available in streaming audio
here: www.unb.ca/web/chsr/home.html
Let Chris know how much you appreciate his work by emailing him here: fuzzcity@hotmail.com (While you're at it, request some OGRE!)
Our interview with Peacdogman's Manic Mechanic is up. We had a lot of fun with it, and I think it shows. Check it out here: www.peacedogman.com/ogreinterview.htm
Once again, a million thanks to the Mechanic and the entire staff at Peacedogman for the support!
We're announcing this well in advance so everyone can mark it on their calendars because this is not to be missed. Indianapolis rock super stars Devil to Pay will be
making a stop in Portland on their tour, and they will be welcomed by a bill of Portland rock's finest: Eldemur Krimm, Conifer, and OGRE! This show is not to be missed.
Be there Friday, June 11th at Geno's.
That's it for now. Thanks to everyone for the support.
Up the Ogres!
APRIL 2 2004
It's that time of year again! Please show your support and vote for OGRE (Best Heavy Rock Act) in the 5th annual Portland Phoenix Best Music Poll:
www.portlandphoenix.com/bmp2k4/
We've got some tough competition, including our friends in Eldemur Krimm and perennial winners 6gig, but you know where the true heaviness lies!!
While you're voting for OGRE for Best Heavy Rock Act, make sure you also vote for our friends in CONIFER for " Best Indie Rock Act" (though they're pretty heavy in their
own right!!). And write in "Dawn of the Proto-Man" for Best Album.
Up the Ogres!
MARCH 25 2004
Ogrerock.com is in new hands! Expect more frequent updates, and more features coming up. Our buddy Andrew is handling things for us now.
If you are in the market for some top shelf web design, send this guy an email!
The new OGRE forum is online! Many thanks to our friends John from Conifer and Steve from Devil to Pay for hooking us up. Check it out at:
www.deviltopay.net/newbb/viewforum.php?f=18
We've been very happy with all of the positive response we've gotten over

We recently had an interview that will be featured in the first issue of the
German 'zine "Metal Coven." More info on that soon! Many thanks to Tobi for
helping us spread the word.
As stated in an earlier update, we have been taking some time off from shows
to work on new material. The three of us are all very excited over how it's
all coming together. So far, the new songs have a dark edge, and are somewhat
more atmospheric, but still undeniably OGRE! Hopefully we'll be back in the
studio sometime in the near future.
That's all the news we have right now. Thank you to everyone who have
supported us and who have spread the word. As a grassroots project with no label
support (YET), we appreciate all the enthusiasm that people have been showing us!
Up the Ogres!

Hello fans! We've been very busy. Our trip down to DC was very sucessful!
Meeting doom giants Victor Griffin and Wino was a dream come true! The line-up
of bands was great, too. Life Beyond, Abdullah, After Forever and Only the
Ghost all played killer sets. And of course, Victor and Place of Skulls tore
the place apart! Many thanks to Doug @ Doom Capital for setting everything up!
Work continues on our first offical release, and trust me, this one is gonna be
worth the wait! We hope to have it out late this year. We've also heard a rumor
that the Saint Vitus tribute album we've participated in will see the light of
day soon! Keep your fingers crossed! We'll post details as soon as we know.
